This session will introduce the fundamentals of organizational behavior and explore how people, teams, and departments function within organizations. Drawing on the extensive experience of organizational psychologist John Orr, PhD, executive coach Jan Anne Dubin, and former GC and CLO Audrey Rubin, the discussion will examine how legal professionals can strengthen their influence and effectiveness within the business.
The program will address the growing need for cross-functional teaming and communication, including practical strategies for building productive relationships across departments. Speakers will discuss how in-house lawyers can move beyond the perception of being the “department of no” to become trusted advisors who contribute strategically to business objectives. The session will also cover how legal leaders can demonstrate and communicate their value to the organization through business acumen, executive presence, and effective collaboration.
Attendees will gain practical insight into navigating internal dynamics, strengthening cross-functional partnerships, and positioning themselves and their legal departments as essential business partners.
