Cyber 101, Part 2: Cybersecurity Certifications & Regulatory Frameworks

Includes a Live Web Event on 06/22/2026 at 11:00 AM (EDT)

This session offers a clear, practical overview of the cybersecurity certifications most relevant to today’s legal professionals, from foundational credentials like CompTIA Security+ to more advanced or specialized options such as CISSP, CIPP/US, and GIAC certifications. Participants will learn what each certification covers, how it aligns with legal and compliance responsibilities, and which credentials can meaningfully support roles in privacy advising, incident response, risk assessment, and governance. The program will also address considerations such as time commitment, study pathways, and the value these certifications bring when working with technical teams or advising clients. Whether you’re new to cybersecurity or looking to deepen your expertise, this session will help you navigate credentialing choices with confidence.
