The new EU AI Act has been adopted by the European Parliament just on March 13, 2024. This new law - often called a “landmark regulation” – shall and will not only define the development and use of AI in Europe, but also in the US and worldwide. You will get an overview on what is now coming with a focus what it means for your company as an employer. This will give you a head start on questions you might now be asked.

Jan-Ove Becker

Jan-Ove Becker is a partner at Littler Germany and a recognized international employment lawyer. He has particular expertise in advising US and other international clients on all questions of individual and collective employment law. Jan-Ove Becker is a member of the firm’s AI and Technology practice and in this role, he advises on transformation of the workplace with a focus on artificial intelligence and AI in HR decision making. Jan-Ove Becker was President of the Labour Law Commission of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) and is Steering Committee member of the International Employment Law Forum.

Pia Papke is an associate at Littler Germany and member of the international employment law practice. She advises the firm’s national and international clients on all questions of individual and collective employment law. She is also a member of the firm’s AI and Technology practice and has been closely following the developments of this new area in recent years. She is advising clients on the introduction of AI in the workplace and negotiates with employee  representatives on mandatory co-determination rights. Pia Papke holds a master’s degree in labor law and corporate governance of the University of Bristol (UK).
