Jocelyn A. Merced joined Ogletree in 2010. For over a decade, Jocelyn has honed her skills as an employment litigator and successfully defended employers of all sizes in employment matters pending in federal and state court, in arbitration, and before administrative agencies in matters in New York and New Jersey involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblowing and reasonable accommodations.
Jocelyn also counsels and provides practical guidance to in-house counsel, business leaders and human resource professionals on a broad range of employment issues, including reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, performance management and separations.
Prior to joining Ogletree, Jocelyn worked as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Bernadette N. DeCastro in the Civil Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey – Hudson County. In this capacity, she conducted research, drafted legal memoranda and judicial opinions for a variety of matters before the Court.
Jocelyn earned a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and was selected to the Order of Omega, Greek National Honor Society, a leadership honor society for members of Greek organizations. During law school, Jocelyn was the Senior Managing Notes and Comments Editor for the Rutgers Race and the Law Review.
