Roel Staes holds the position of Senior Vice President, General Counsel, International Operations at FedEx. In this role, he is responsible for FedEx Express’ legal, regulatory and government affairs in Europe. Until May 2021, he held the same responsibilities for Canada, Latin America, Africa and Asia. In June 2023, he was appointed Head of Sustainability for Europe, in addition to his General Counsel role.  Roel studied law at the Universities of Leuven and Antwerp, holds a Diploma in Aviation Law and a MBA from Henley Business School. His free time is spent with his wife and three children.

Lee Udelsman is one of Major, Lindsey & Africa’s most experienced in-house recruiters and is considered a subject matter expert in legal recruiting.   Since joining the search firm in 2005, Lee has partnered successfully with C-level executives from hundreds of companies in the U.S. and internationally to place senior-level legal and compliance leaders across all industries. It is a common occurrence for Lee to make multiple placements with his clients, and in several situations, to have assisted his clients in building their legal departments.  

Lee is regularly quoted in the press on trends impacting in-house counsel. He has written articles addressing general counsel succession planning, and the expanded role of the general counsel that major media outlets have published, and he has served as a speaker on panels with legal and business industry associations. Before joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Lee was a labor and employment lawyer in private practice for several years and held senior client-facing roles in the FinTech industry.

Blake is Senior Director of Business Intelligence at ACC and is responsible for the management and growth of ACC’s research department. He has spent the past nine years expanding ACC’s research capacity from a small member surveying unit to a multifaceted and full-service data hub for the in-house community. Blake has led numerous high-impact international survey projects and developed data-driven resources, products, and services to help in-house counsel legal professionals make more informed business decisions.

Blake has published several peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals applying statistical and experimental methodologies and has taught several college courses on quantitative research in the social sciences. He has a Ph.D. in political science from Texas A&M University and a B.A. in international politics from Penn State University.
