    Heather Somers is Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Louisiana-Pacific Corporation, a leading manufacturer of engineered wood building material headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.  LP operates 25+ manufacturing locations across 4 countries (USA, Canada, Chile, Brazil).   Heather joined LP in late March of 2020, an interesting time to begin a new job with a new company and relocate a family to a new city.  Prior to her time at LP, Heather held legal roles with such household names as Sleep Number, Ameriprise Financial, and American Express.  Heather received her B.A. from the University of Rochester in 1991 as a political science major with a minor in information systems.  Graduated early, Heather received her J.D. from Ohio Northern University in 1993.  Heather is currently admitted to practice in Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Ohio and Tennessee as well as before the United States Supreme Court.  When not finding ways to streamline, automate and otherwise improve legal processes, Heather enjoys baking, digital embroidery, and all manner of DIY projects.
