Nigel is the Head of AI Assurance at Holistic AI, which provides software solutions for enterprises that want to harness AI ethically & safely. In his role, he is responsible for risk assessment and assurance solutions around clients' algorithmic use. Previously, Nigel spent 20 years within the investment banking industry across derivatives trading and structuring roles, and enjoys bringing the associated risk management expertise to a new domain. Nigel has a Master of Mathematics degree and a Master's degree in Machine Learning.

Emily is a partner at international law firm Simmons & Simmons and Head of the firm's US office in San Francisco. She is a member of the firm’s cross border Digital Business group and advises on data privacy, cyber security and technology regulatory issues.  Emily is English law qualified and has worked in Silicon Valley for over seven years advising fast growth technology, fintech and healthcare companies as they grow their businesses internationally.  Her experience includes advising on the launch of new products and services into new markets, carrying out GDPR compliance health checks, responding to regulatory investigations, data security incidents and data subject requests, as well as negotiating with customers and vendors. She also helps clients to find commercial solutions to address evolving international data transfer issues.  As the regulatory landscape continues to transform, Emily is advising clients on upcoming technology regulation, working with the experts across Simmons & Simmons’ offices to advise on the impact of new laws, including the EU AI Act.  Emily speaks regularly at external events and conferences on data, AI and technology related issues.

Drawing upon decades of experience as a trial lawyer and trusted counselor, Fran Green counsels global clients on navigating the complexities of workforce management, cybersecurity, and data privacy laws, as well as the opportunities and legal risks presented by the design and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) in consumer tools and within the employment life cycle. She advises clients in a broad range of industries, including finance, retail, manufacturing, and consumer goods.

Fran’s experience includes:

1. Guiding corporate compliance and risk assessment executives through the creation and implementation of data and information privacy programs and policies, with a particular focus on the use of disruptive technologies and artificial intelligence. She holds a Master of Laws in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law.

2. Advising management and corporate boards of multinational and domestic corporations on corporate governance and the infusion and utilization of disruptive technologies in the workplace and consumer applications.
Litigating on behalf of domestic and global financial institutions and corporations in federal and state courts and before various federal securities exchanges in all aspects of workforce management.

3. Fran is a featured contributor on AI and privacy for ALM’s New York Law Journal and is privileged to be a working group member of the AI Safety Institute Consortium of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The U.S. AI Safety Institute (AISI), located within the U.S. Department of Commerce at NIST, was established following the 2023 presidential Executive Order 14110, the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence. AISI is tasked with developing the testing, evaluations, and guidelines that will help accelerate safe AI innovation in the United States and around the world.
 
Conversant in Japanese, having studied and worked in Japan as a vowed nun, Fran has presented before the Keidanren (Japan Federation of Economic Organizations) in Tokyo and Osaka, the Japan Society, and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the subject of corporate localization in the United States and the attendant legal issues in doing business within the United States and attendant risks and issues, among them cybersecurity and privacy.
 
In 2010, Fran joined Michelle Obama, J.K. Rowling, Barbara Walters, Maya Angelou, Suze Orman, and other women leaders as a contributor to The Goddess Shift: Women Leading for a Change, edited by Stephanie Marohn and published by Elite Books. In connection with the book’s publication, she was featured on a national cable television morning show, along with Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis, to discuss the chapters they contributed. In November 2010, the book won the USA Book News "Best Books 2010" award in the Women's Issues category and was a finalist in the Anthologies Nonfiction category. Royalties from the sale of the book continue to be used to support non-profit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of girls and young women: Capacitar, Tostan, and the Global Fund for Women.
 
Currently, Fran serves on the Advisory Council of the Japan Society Board of Directors and is an Advisory Board member of Corporate Counsel Women of Color. She was also a Board of Directors member of the Grace Institute and is a cofounder of Epstein Becker Green’s Women’s Initiative. In addition, Fran is an award-winning equestrian and was privileged to serve within the New York City boroughs as an Auxiliary Mounted New York Parks Officer and on the Board of the New York City Parks Mounted Auxiliary, a 501(c)(3) foundation supporting the New York City community and the New York City Parks Mounted Enforcement Unit. Fran enjoys indoor and outdoor rowing and racing and has medaled in the Indoor U.S. and World Rowing Championships.
