I serve as the Chief Privacy Officer at Edward Jones and lead the firm’s privacy efforts, as well as develop and implement policies and processes related to preparing for and responding to cyber and privacy incidents. I also over the firm’s Records and Information Management Program within the Legal Division and provide legal guidance and advice to the firm’s business areas on matters related to eDiscovery, privacy, information and data security and protection, and information governance.

I am extensively involved in legal education activities and look for every opportunity to raise the competence of the legal profession when it comes to the intersection of law and technology and frequently speak at continuing legal education seminars related to privacy, information governance, eDiscovery, and cybersecurity.

I recently completed a two-year term as President of the non-profit St. Louis Bar Foundation, and I work with both the Bar Foundation and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis to promote the interests of diverse communities, as well as to advance the goal of increasing diversity within the legal profession. In 2012, I helped establish the first Hispanic bar association in St. Louis and served as its first President. Currently, I serve on the Missouri Supreme Court Commission of Racial and Ethnic Fairness and Co-chair the Commission's Practice of Law Subcommittee.

Additionally he has worked as a management consultant. Mark sits on the board of advisors for high technology companies. He has a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of California San Diego. Mark is former President of the UC San Diego Alumni Association, and served as a Trustee of the university’s foundation.
