Rebecca Lim

Group General Counsel

Rebecca was appointed as Group General Counsel at Transurban in April 2025. 

Rebecca is an experienced General Counsel and executive, having previously been Westpac’s Group General Counsel, a role she held for 10 years.  Rebecca joined Westpac in 2002 and held a variety of other senior leadership roles including Chief of Staff to the CEO, General Manager, Human Resources for St.George Bank and General Manager, St.George Private Clients.

Rebecca began her career at Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst) before joining the US firm Skadden Arps where she worked in New York and London. Rebecca then moved into an in-house role in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in London before returning to Australia.

Rebecca is a member of Chief Executive Women and a Minerva mentor. Rebecca has a keen interest in supporting and developing in-house legal teams and has been the Deputy Chair of the GC100, representing the General Counsel of the ASX100 in Australia.

Stuart Symons

Stuart Symons is Group General Counsel of Mirvac Group, an ASX‑100 diversified property and funds management group.

His experience spans major domestic and international transactions, including large‑scale office, industrial, residential and build‑to‑rent platforms, fund establishment and restructuring, and significant capital partnering arrangements.

Prior to becoming Group General Counsel, Stuart held senior legal roles at Mirvac, Goodman Group and Corrs Chambers Westgarth, with international experience in London, Brussels and Hong Kong.

Stuart also serves as Chair of the Property Council of Australia’s Corporate Governance and Regulation Committee.

In addition to her executive role, Michelle has significant board and company secretariat experience, including supporting ASX‑listed boards and serving as a director of regional beverage businesses in Southeast Asia. Chris is the Director, Policy and CLO Engagement for the Association of Corporate Counsel in APAC. Chris’s CLO engagement responsibilities include managing the ACC GC100, an invitation-only group open the highest ranked legal officer in an ASX100 company, or equivalent. Chris is also responsible for policy and advocacy for ACC in APAC. Chris has previous experience in senior management roles at ASX100 companies and as a CEO and non-executive director for other entities. Chris is a qualified lawyer, with an MBA and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
