The online education industry is exploding with new and different avenues for learning all over the Internet. With this explosion, educational providers and vendors are facing both old and new legal issues. How this new, fast-growing industry will face and overcome these issues fascinates me because I, like the students who are utilizing these online education opportunities, want to continually learn and grow. Many of the “old” traditional legal issues that burden “on-ground” educational institutions still apply to online education providers but have a unique twists when applied to the online education world. In addition, the online, remote nature of the educational experience in this industry creates entirely different but no less interesting (and troubling for the institutions and vendors) concerns of its own. Finding ways to assist the online education institutions and those vendors who service those institutions and to address such old and new issues and concerns requires innovative thinking and approaches that constantly force me go beyond the obvious and/or standard to find the answers that work in this world. This means that every day I have to learn and adapt. Every day is an adventure that keeps me interested, entertained and continually expanding what I know and what I can do.
