The GDPR was enacted more than 5 years ago, but global companies continue to grapple with privacy laws throughout the world, now with even more cybersecurity laws and regulations set to take effect. Beginning with a panel discussion, this session will compare existing US and EU data privacy laws with China's new Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) before attendees step in to discuss how data privacy scenarios should be handled under both existing and future laws. The session will integrate insights for crafting a flexible and effective global cybersecurity compliance policy, examine international perspectives on cybersecurity obligations, and identify overlaps in cybersecurity and data privacy.

Civix
Hi I’m Brittany! Nice to meet you! I’m a General Counsel and I currently manage a multinational company and its subsidiaries. I am a strategic partner in a global private equity backed company. I manage a dedicated legal team that continues to thrive year over year.
My passion is seeing businesses thrive and helping facilitate those successes. Providing a unique approach by strategically reviewing documents from both a business and legal perspective to protect the legal interests of the company, while also knowing that business deals need these documents to continue moving forward.
I thrive in building collaborate relationships across departments and strategically expanding in global markets to maximize business opportunity while minimizing risk.
I provide legal advice and strategic leadership on all things related to the company from tech deployment, SaaS negotiations, community planning, employment relations, data privacy, M&A transactions and everything in between. I also have experience with litigation, managing outside counsel, and IP protection.
Can I just say if it’s legally related it’s probably slid across my desk?!
I am also considered a legal influencer (that still makes me chuckle, but yes I am super proud of it) where I post daily content on LinkedIn. I am on a mission to disrupt the legal industry by creating change content on GC life, career happiness, positivity, and showing how you go from feeling stuck and buttoned up to success and happiness.
