Remote work has transformed the modern workplace—but with that flexibility comes a new wave of legal, operational, and security challenges. Join Jackson Lewis P.C. attorneys Kristin Bauer and Aly Guyan, and Yvette Politis, Chief Employment Counsel, RELX Inc., for a two-part (Part 2) series exploring the benefits and pitfalls of remote work, from wage and hour compliance and ADA considerations to emerging risks like deepfake hiring and data exposure.
Remote and hybrid work models continue to deliver flexibility and access to talent—but they also introduce complex and evolving legal risks. In this session, we examine the practical realities of managing a distributed workforce across jurisdictions and the employment law implications that follow. Topics include wage and hour compliance challenges unique to remote employees; navigating ADA accommodation requests for telework (and when in-person attendance remains an essential function); performance management in a decentralized environment; and emerging issues related to workplace conduct, including harassment claims arising in virtual settings. With class action exposure on the rise and compliance requirements varying by location, employers must take a more deliberate, policy-driven approach to remote work.
